There is many hiking trails in Vrátna valley, along which you can enjoy summer hiking. The nature is majestic in the whole valley, you just need to choose the right path or to try all the trails. For example:

1. Trip to gorge "Jánošíkove Diery" - small circuit

Hotel Boboty – – Podžiar – Dolné Diery – Biely potok – Hotel Diery – Nové diery - Hotel Boboty

09:00- leaving hotel Boboty - direction "educational path Diery" - Podžiar: walking about 20 min. A nice walk through beautiful landscape. 

09:25 - Podžiar is a saddle with a meadow along Biely potok (Biely stream) , from which it is possible to continue to both gorges Dolné and Horné Diery.

09:30 - continue along blue mark - direction Dolné Diery

10:00 - Ostrvné, it´s a place, where a trail connects with a blue mark and here is the place where the last part of the gorge Dolné Diery begins - direction Biely potok about 25min. 

10:25 - Biely potok - hotel "Diery" - here you can enjoy a good meal, or have a drink in Terchovská hut

10:30 - Back alon the blue mark to Ostrvné about 25min.

10:55 - Ostrvné - from there along the yellow mark to Nové diery - Beautiful rock walls and waterfalls line sidewalk. The gorge is accessible by ladders in particularly inaccessible places.

11:25 - Podžiar - continue from there direction Hotel Boboty

11:45 - Hotel Boboty

Due to limited capacity of ladders we recommend to always complete this circuit down along the blue mark through Dolné diery and up along the yellow mark thdough Nové diery.

2. Vrátna ridge - short

Chata Vrátna – Snilovské sedlo – Chleb – Hromové – Poludňový grúň - Chata na Grúni - Chata Vrátna

08:45 – Snilovské saddle

09:15 – Chleb

09:30 – Hromové - red mark 

10:15 – Poludňový grúň – along the yellow mark direction Chata na Grúni (Cottage - 45min)

11:00 -  Chata na Grúni - along the yellow mark direction Chata Vrátna (Cottage Vrátna -45min)

11:45 - Chata Vrátna (Cottage Vrátna)

The descent from Poludňový Grúň to Chata na Grúni is relatively steep, in general this trail is less difficult than the opposite direction and it is suitable for less trained hikers. 

3. Ridge of Malá Fatra – direction Strečno

Chata Vrátna (Cottage Vrátna) – Snilovské saddle – Veľký Kriváň – Malý Kriváň – Suchý – Strečiansky priesmyk  (Strečno mountain pass) – Strečno

08:30 – Chata Vrátna – Snilovské sedlo by cabin lift (10 min.)

08:45 – Snilovské sedlo –  along the red mark sirection Veľký Kriváň (50min)

09:35 – Veľký Kriváň – along the red mark direction Malý Kriváň (1h 20min)

10:55 – Malý Kriváň – continue

12:30 – Suchý – the descent along the red mark to Chata pod Suchým (Cottage under Suchý) (40min)

13:10 – Chata pod Suchým – the red mark direction Strečno mountain pass (1½h)

14:40 – Strečiansky priesmyk

15:40 – Strečno

Long hike. To save time and effort it is possible to choose the path under Veľký Kriváň and also under the hill Suchý, or to go from Chata pod Suchým toVarín

4. Ridge of Malá Fatra – direction Zázrivá

11:30 – Stoh – the descent direction Medziholie (45min) – former cottage under Rozsutec

12:15 – Medziholie – blue mark direction Medzirozsutce (1h)

13:15 – Medzirozsutce – red mark direction saddle Príslop nad Bielou (45min)

14:00 – Príslop nad Bielou – red mark direction Zázrivá (1h 10min)

5. Vrátna ridge 

Vrátna–Starý dvor – sedlo Príslop – Baraniarky – Kraviarske – Snilovské sedlo – Chleb – Poludňový grúň –Chata na Grúni – Vrátna-Starý dvor

08:45 – saddle Príslop – blue mark continue direction saddle za Kraviarskym, on the way there is the ascent to Baraniarky a Kraviarske (2h)

11:30 – Snilovské sedlo – along the red trail direction Hromové (45min)

12:15 – Hromové – the red mark direction Poludňový grúň (45min)

13:00 – Poludňový grúň – the descent along the yellow mark to Chata na Grúni (45min)

13:45 – Chata na Grúni – from the cottagealong the green mark direction Vrátna – Starý dvor (1h)

14:45 – Vrátna (Starý dvor)

6. Šútovský waterfall

Chata Vrátna – Snilovské sedlo – Chata pod Chlebom – Šútovský waterfall - Šútovo

08:30 - Chata Vrátna – Snilovské sedlo by cabin lift (10 min.)

08:45 - Snilovské sedlo - along the red mark, direction: Chata pod Chlebom (30min)

09:15 - Chata pod Chlebom: opened year-round, refreshment possible ( 1415 m ), next along the blue mark sirection: Šútovský waterfall1½ h

10:45 – Šútovský waterfall - a waterfall is relatively hidden and it is located few dozen meters from the main trail. Although the path to it is marked, you need to pay attention and do not overlook it. The waterfall is 38 meters high, vodopád je pomerne skrytý a nachádza sa niekoľko desiatok metrov od hlavného chodníka. Cesta k nemu je síce označená, napriek tomu treba dávať pozor a neprehliadnuť ju. Vodopád je vysoký 38 m, fed by Moses´s springs springing under Hromové. Leave further along the blue mark, direction Šútovo: 1¾ hod

12:30 – Šútovo - Rieka settlement: from this settlement the road leads to Martin and right at the lower end of the road, which starts in Šútovská valley there is a bus stop. about 5 minutes from the road there is a quarry in a pleasant environment, where both locals and visitors go swim in warm weather. The water here is clean and very refreshing. 

7. Day trip through Horné diery,

Hotel Boboty - Podžiar - Horné Diery - Medzirozsutce – Malý Rozsutec – Veľký Rozsutec - Medziholie - Štefanová - Hotel Boboty

08:00 - Hotel Boboty or Štefanová: From the hotel along the educational path Diery or from Štefanová along the yellow mark

08:35 - Podžiar - continue along the blue mark, direction Horné Diery 40 min. horné Diery are the continuation of Dolné or Nové Diery.

09:15 - Pod Pálenicou

10.15 - Medzirozsutce – along the yellow mark direction Malý Rozsutec (30min) and back to saddle Medzirozsutce (20min).

11:05 – Medzirozsutce– along the red mark direction Veľký Rozsutec (1¼h). From there direction Medziholie along the red mark (1h).

13:20 – Medziholie (saddle). Under Rozsutec there is a nice view on the other side to valley Biela. Continue along the green mark back to Šefanová about 2 h.

14:35 - Štefanová - continue along the forest path near the road to Terchová village, after about 200m turn right direction Hotel Boboty

14:50 - Hotel Boboty

Very attractive trip, for people who like gorges, gulches, waterfalls and adventure in form of ladders and path over the water. Take any morning bus to Nová dvor or Štefanová. If you have a car you can park for free at the Hotel Boboty parking lot or at the paid parking lot in Štefanová.

8. Zbojnícky chodník

Tiesňavy– Malé nocľahy - Obšívanka - Vyšné kamence

08:00 - Tiesňavy 567 m – blue mark, direction Malé nocľahy 1000 m 1¼ h

09:15 – Malé nocľahy – blue mark, sirection Obšívanka (2¼)

11:30 – Obšívanka – direction Vyšné Kamence (30min)

12:00 – Vyšné Kamence

A very interesting tourist route, rich in rock decoration and good views. In the summer rich in flowers. The route leads through Tiesňavy national reservation, movement outside the tourist trail is not allowd. Very difficult, steep climb. Good orientation sense.
